The Internship Program Launching in Partnership with PBC-DNE
September 17, 2021
According to Leigh Buchanon “One of the characteristics of millennials, besides the fact that they are masters of digital communication, is that they are primed to do well by doing good. Almost 70 percent say that giving back and being civically engaged are their highest priorities.” Hence, the partnership between the Philippine Business Council of Dubai and Northern Emirates (PBC-DNE) and Bath Spa University Academic Centre Ras Al Khaimah (BSU) was formed to launch the Internship Program. It seeks to empower its corporate partners as they engage a generation of digitally savvy and enthusiastic learners whilst continuously adapting in a business economy that is technologically demanding.
The role of PBC-DNE is an advisory council on employment matters and links corporate partners with BSU interns.
RATIONALE of INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
In a growing and competitive market, students must be equipped not only with academic concepts and theories but with practical experience that will help them navigate the complexities of work. The short-term real workplace experience that companies provide will aid students to discover the areas of interest that match their skill sets, develop good qualities and work habits, build a strong network, gain mentors, receive guidance and counsel for the business world.
At the end of the internship, stakeholders will evaluate the personal and professional impact of the internship with students and their chances of employability after the engagement. Through the evaluation process, students can receive proper feedback that will help them perform better in future employment and kick-start their professional careers.
